SEO Manager

We have an exciting new opportunity to join our growing Organic Search team and are now looking for an SEO Manager with a focus on the technical and on-site performance of websites and how this translates to performance in search.

This is a highly varied role spanning a number of different client sectors and needs. We are looking for a strong and proven, hands-on technically-driven SEO Manager with knowledge of technical SEO including crawling, indexing and page speed optimisation.

Reporting to and working closely with our Head of SEO, you’ll be a self-starter who can identify opportunities to improve the performance of our clients’ digital platforms. Prioritisation, assessing value and communicating the benefits of your recommendations are also key attributes.

Role Summary

  • Focused on the technical and on-site performance of our client’s websites and how this translates to performance in search.

  • The primary measures of the SEO Manager are based around the strength of client feedback we receive on our work and our service, in addition to client organic performance.

  • The ultimate goal of the SEO Manager is to drive client loyalty to the agency by identifying, assessing the value of, prioritising and communicating the opportunities to improve the performance of our clients’ digital platforms.


  • Ability to monitor, analyse, and report on client’s websites using Looker Studio (GDS), Sheets, Google Analytics and MS PowerPoint to address client’s KPIs.

  • Experience with industry tools such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, AHREFs and SEMRush.

  • Experience communicating complex SEO concepts to non-technical client stakeholders and teams.

  • Technical SEO auditing and task prioritisation.

  • Technical task briefing and project management (most clients use JIRA).

  • Client health monitoring using available tools and scripts.

  • Assisting with report set-up and generation.

  • Bespoke data capture and analysis.

  • Helping promote our expertise through onsite content, white papers and external speaking opportunities.

  • Ownership of technical and consultancy clients, liaising directly with clients.

  • Executing the technical and on-page strategies.

  • Building and maintaining clients KW Universe and identifying opportunities.

  • Undertake technical audits.

  • Contribute to team knowledge growth.

  • Keep up to date with industry and market developments.

  • 5+ years experience of working within SEO at an agency, across multiple business sectors.

  • An understanding of website performance principles.

  • Knowledge of web coding languages such as HTML, CSS & JavaScript and how they’re used.

  • Awareness of web frameworks such as React, Headless and CMS.

  • Familiarity with industry tools (GA, GSC, GMB & other research tools).

  • Keen eye for detail.

  • Excellent time management skills, ensuring client deadlines are hit.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
