Digital Account Director

We are looking for a Digital Account Director, with a passion for digital channels and problem solving, to join our growing Performance team here at CreativeRace.

Supporting the overall day-to-day operations for our digital performance clients. The role will require you to be an organised and process driven individual to effectively manage multiple stakeholders and keep several projects at different stages moving forward. This is a highly varied role spanning a number of different client sectors and needs. We are looking for a strong and proven account handler steeped in digital, who understands and speaks the digital language as well as have the ability to run and grow client relationships.

Reporting to the Managing Partner and working closely with our Head of SEO and Head of Media Strategy, you’ll be a self-starter who can identify opportunities to improve the client relationships and grow our accounts. Prioritisation, assessing value, coordinating different disciplines and communicating well are a must for this role.

Some of our clients will provide the opportunity to manage fully integrated accounts that span into creative delivery too, ideally, we are looking for a digitally-focused Account Director who is able to stretch across all delivery disciplines.

Role Summary

  • Build and grow profitable client relationships for the agency.
  • The primary measure of the Account Director is based around the strength of client feedback we receive on our work & our service.
  • The ultimate goal of the Account Director is to drive client loyalty to the agency and enhance our agency reputation through the strength of our work.


Ownership of client relationships at mid and senior levels built on quality of output and mutual respect:

  • An intelligent overview of the client’s environment and challenges – core knowledge of their business.

  • An engaging partner-based personal approach to supporting clients.

  • Oversee the creation of integrated and performance strategies built around the clients marketing and business needs.

  • Build strong client relationships and ensure the agency teams are focused on the agreed KPI’s and results.

  • An ability to pro-actively create solutions for future client challenges.

  • Clear man-marking strategy for each client, utilising the leadership team as relevant.

  • Keep the wider team aware of client sentiment, challenges & opportunities.

  • Ability to write, prepare & present documents, presentations & reports tailored to each client’s style, preference, knowledge & experience.

  • Inspiring presentation style that excites the client and elicits action.

  • Take responsibility for the commercial performance of clients and ensure that there is a clear framework of results and measurement in place for each client and the relevant team.

Commercial awareness, driving profitability, growth and efficiencies:

  • A natural growth instinct that seeks out opportunities to develop our business further including being alert to cross-sell opportunities and following a land and expand approach to onboarding new clients.

  • Ensure forecasts are regularly updated, interrogating the figures to ensure accuracy.

  • Ensure all projects are scoped correctly and delivered within agreed timeframes.

  • Daily, weekly & monthly resource management across all disciplines.

  • Take an active role in creating and developing commercial opportunities with clients to maximise revenue and growth.

  • Work alongside the Commercial Director, Head of SEO and Head of Media Strategy to define the best market proposition based on the agency capabilities and create compelling credentials to take an agreed target audience.

  • 6+ years experience of working within a digital or integrated agency, across multiple business sectors.

  • Previous line management experience with a demonstrable track record of leading, mentoring, supporting teams or individuals, working with them to address ways of working, resource challenges and development opportunities.

  • Be aware of the broader agency community and keep in touch with client moves, talent opportunities and show strong understanding of the market.

  • Work with integrity, ensuring you do the right thing for our clients and our people.

  • Enjoy managing your own workload and taking responsibility for many areas of an exciting growing business.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Appetite to learn from the wider team and get involved in shaping future processes.
